The Indianapolis Colts pick up a much-needed victory by defeating the NFL’s final unbeaten team, the Kansas City Chiefs, 19-9.
The Indianapolis Colts defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 19-9 on Sunday, tarnishing the league’s last unbeaten record, and the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints suffered their second defeat of the season.
The Indianapolis Colts defense heard its critics and offered a resounding response against Kansas City. Indy had been pounded for 174 yards on the ground in a loss to Jacksonville the previous week, the latest of several defensive collapses this season. It was unclear whether things would get better on Sunday against the league’s only remaining unbeaten team.
All the Indianapolis Colts really needed Sunday was to get rid of their homesickness as they returned to Lucas Oil Stadium all fired up. The Colts’ 19-9 win was larger than it showed on the scoreboard. It more felt like 27-9.
